Gimme Some Lovin’ is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. Think (Featuring Aretha Franklin) is one of my favorite songs by The Blues Brothers. I came to like Soul Man. One listen to the sheer beauty of Soul Finger (Including ‘Funky Broadway’) was all I needed. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. Theme From Rawhide - My least favorite song on this album. Sweet Home Chicago is a gorgeous song and it grows on you. If you are a The Blues Brothers fan, you will love Shake Your Tailfeather (Featuring Ray Charles). Hey Bartender - A catchy, upbeat tune. Blew our minds when we first heard Messin’ With The Kid. This track is full of harmonies and gets The Blues Brothers - The very Best Of (CD1) off to a relaxing start. (I Got Every Thing I Need) Almost is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. The Old Landmark (Featuring James Brown) is the kind of record that makes you remember why music can be so addictive. As always, The Blues Brothers’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Green Onions is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. There is exquisite mix of music in Guilty. Riot In Cell Block Number Nine is one of the more up-tempo songs on The Blues Brothers - The very Best Of (CD1). Shot Gun Blues is probably the highlight of the album. After about the third ‘b’ Movie Box Car Blues listen through, I began to believe this song is The Blues Brothers’s essence. Peter Gunn Theme - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. The song Closing : I Can’t Turn You Loose ending is my favorite… so catchy!
