James Brown Living in America mp3

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

James Brown Living in America imageNow signed to James Brown’s Alta Records, the title track from second album “Living in America” leads James Brown’s back-to-school campaign. You need to listen Living in America. It’s really cool. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of James Brown on ‘Georgia-Lina’. I greatly enjoyed this CD.

Cold Sweat is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. (So Tired Of Standing Still We Got To) Move On is outstanding work of James Brown. James Brown emotions are reflected through I’m Real. Gravity as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. This track is full of harmonies and gets Living in America off to a relaxing start. Just Do It catches attention immediately, I was truly moved when I heard Show Me. Can’t Get Any Harder gets you up and jumping. Charming song, great melody.

Prince The Beautiful Experience mp3

Thursday, February 14th, 2008

Prince The Beautiful Experience imageI am not a real Jazz: Funk music type of person, but i have to admit ‘The Beautiful Experience’ really is amazing. Prince is work hard for The Beautiful Experience. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Prince. The Beautiful Experience is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.

Staxowax one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Mustang Mix. Prince rocks harder than ever with Flutestramental. Sexy Staxophone And Guitar is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. Prince breathes new life into the music in Mustang Instrumental. The Most Beautiful Girl In The World is one of the more up-tempo songs on The Beautiful Experience.

Freakpower Drive Thru Booty mp3

Freakpower Drive Thru Booty image‘Drive Thru Booty’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Freakpower’s album Drive Thru Booty falls to No. 2 with 501,000, a sales slide of 70%. six years ago, Freakpower briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Turn On Tune In Cop Out”. Drive Thru Booty is awesome.

Turn On Tune In Cop Out is a very catchy tune. Get In Touch is a astounding sing-along. I’ve found myself listening to Freak Power back to back and back many times. Running Away is gorgeous song though, very addictive. So much energy, so exciting a sound. What It Is is the more seemingly obscure song on Drive Thru Booty that bear up best to repeated listening. Blew our minds when we first heard Waiting For The Story To End. Rush is a strong cut, one of many. I believe Big Time is one of the most perfect, heartfelt songs ever written. The Whip is new, fresh, and hypnotizing.

N.P.G. Exodus mp3

Thursday, January 3rd, 2008

N.P.G. Exodus imageGreat album Exodus - just must listen it! It’s natural for N.P.G. to take a stab at ‘N.P.G. Operator Intro’ considering her long-professed love for No Authority. N.P.G. had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. I Love Exodus from start to finish!

One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Get Wild because the melody in the chorus is so good. This song is very powerful, its catchy melody will have you singing along in no time. The sound of DJ Gets Jumped is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. I love the melodic melody of New Power Soul and to this day it makes me feel good. DJ Seduces Sonny is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Segue (2) actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on N.P.G.’s face. Count the Days is astounding. The Good Life (5:48) a good melody. Cherry Cherry is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. In Segue (3) the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in Exodus. I like Mashed Potato Girl Intro because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. Segue (4) - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. Big Fun - This one is lively and fun. New Power Day - arguably the best track on Exodus album. Still going through Exodus and coming to appreciate Segue (5) more and more with every listen. Hallucination Rain is a bit of a show-tune. NPG Bum Rush the Ship is the albums biggest surprise. The Exodus Has Begun is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Outro, which shows, blatantly, how much N.P.G. has evolved as a singer.

The Ohio Players Funk on Fire: The Mercury Anthology (CD1) mp3

Monday, December 10th, 2007

The Ohio Players Funk on Fire: The Mercury Anthology (CD1) imageLiza Moon has compared writing for The Ohio Players’s new album to that on ‘Funk on Fire: The Mercury Anthology (CD1)’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. IF YOU LIKE ALL The Ohio Players’S SONG GO FOR IT! This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by The Ohio Players. You need to listen Funk on Fire: The Mercury Anthology (CD1) right now

Jive Turkey great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in Funk on Fire: The Mercury Anthology (CD1). Fire catches attention immediately, Together - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. I Want To Be Free defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. It’s All Over actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on The Ohio Players’s face. In Piano Ballad (Just Right) The Ohio Players is at his best. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. Sweet Sticky Thing is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Charming song, great melody. Honey is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. After about the third Happy Holidays, Pts. 1 & 2 listen through, I began to believe this song is The Ohio Players’s essence.

Rick James and Stone City Band Motown Legends: Give It To Me Baby mp3

Saturday, November 10th, 2007

Rick James and Stone City Band Motown Legends: Give It To Me Baby imageMotown Legends: Give It To Me Baby carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. I think this is best Jazz: Funk album. Motown Legends: Give It To Me Baby CD - one of the best in Jazz: Funk. Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like Motown Legends: Give It To Me Baby.

Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. This song stands out greatly from the others. In Cold Blooded the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Love Gun - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Rick James and Stone City Band. Call Me Up is a strong cut, one of many. Stormy Love has a fun tempo. Dream Maker one is one of the better boring ones. She Blew My Mind (69 Times) on Motown Legends: Give It To Me Baby is solid and easy to listen to. Spacey Love is one of the best records ever. Moonchild is a fine track on any terms.

James Brown Hell mp3

Saturday, October 6th, 2007

James Brown Hell imageOn Hell album, James Brown have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. This -song debut EP shows the promise that James Brown has. Self-described as Jazz: Funk with lots of words, James Brown comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Hell is one of James Brown best albums

Hell rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. My Thang - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. Sayin’ And Doin’ It on Hell is solid and easy to listen to. Please, Please, Please gets you up and jumping. I listened to the opening track When The Saints Go Marching In and liked it a lot. Once you hear These Foolish Things Remind Me Of You, you will listen to it over and over. Stormy Monday is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Hell. A Man Has To Go Back To The Crossroad Before He Finds Himself is a exquisite, simple song by James Brown at the top of his game. Sometime is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. Music and lyrics of I Can’t Stand It ‘76′ creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Overall a nice softer song. I have all of James Brown’s tracks and Don’t Tell A Lie About Me And I Won’t Tell The Truth On You is probably the most his introspective effort. Papa Don’t Take No Mess is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Hell have ended.

Junie The Westbound Years mp3

Junie The Westbound Years imageI guess you need to listen The Westbound Years as soon as possible. I am not a real Jazz: Funk music type of person, but i have to admit ‘The Westbound Years’ really is amazing. Now signed to Junie’s Capricorn Records, the title track from second album “The Westbound Years” leads Junie’s back-to-school campaign. The Westbound Years is what good Jazz: Funk should be.

Tight Rope - arguably the best track on The Westbound Years album. Music in Walt’s Third Trip is gorgeous as in all tracks of The Westbound Years. A unique and uplifting song. The Westbound Years couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track When We Do. Johnny Carson Samba is the kind of record that makes you remember why music can be so addictive. As always, Junie’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Junie II - Check out that bassline! I like the idea behind Not as Good as You Should. In Cookies Will Get You the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Freeze is one of the best records ever. Super J is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. Vocals of Junie in Granny’s Funky Rolls Royce really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. Junie III is just simply stunning. Junie is one of artists that allow his songs like Surrender to stand on their own and be heard. Suzie is a very catchy tune. Lyrics of Super Groupie are precise and evocative. Suzie Thundertussy is one of the coolest songs Junie has ever recorded. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on The Westbound Years. Junie’s Ultimate Departure [#] is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside.
